Weekly News Round Up

Good Afternoon Residents of the Woolwich Dockyard Ward,

Things have been busy this week, and your Safer Neighbourhood Team has been out tackling the issues that matter most to local residents.

Cracking down on ASB and criminality

We've continued our work targeting individuals involved in anti-social behaviour and criminal activity, as well as addresses linked to ongoing concerns in the area. This work includes high-visibility patrols, intelligence-led activity, and taking positive action against those causing misery for our community.

We know many residents have been concerned following the recent shooting incident in Frances Street. Thanks to a fast-moving and thorough investigation, a suspect has now been arrested and charged. While we understand incidents like this can be worrying and unsettling, we hope this demonstrates our commitment to acting swiftly and bringing offenders to justice.

Met Engage Day of Action - Thursday 13th November

On Thursday 13th, we'll be out in Kingsman Street and the surrounding area for a Met Engage Day of Action.

This is your chance to speak directly with your local officers, tell us what's affecting your neighbourhood, and help shape where we focus our patrols and problem-solving efforts.

If you see us out and about, please stop for a chat. Whether it's anti-social behaviour, drug dealing, nuisance vehicles, or anything else that's impacting your quality of life, we want to hear from you.

Winter Crime Prevention Tips

With the darker evenings and colder weather arriving, now is a great time to think about protecting your home and belongings:

A few simple precautions can go a long way in preventing crime.

The information you give us helps us put officers in the right places at the right times. Whether it's ongoing ASB, suspicious activity, vulnerable residents who may need support, or locations attracting criminal behaviour, please continue to report your concerns to us.

Working together, we can make our neighbourhood a safer, stronger and more welcoming place for everyone.

As always, no newsletter would be complete without an inspirational quote:

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."
Winston Churchill

Let's continue to work together to make Woolwich Dockyard a safer place to live and work for everyone and we thank you as always for your continuing support.
