Burnley - 2 ASB vehicles seized and The Big Sleep Out

Good afternoon,

Just to update you with some of the things your NPT team has been upto last night

A vehicle failed to stop on Eastern Avenue for NPT officers and then later on for Traffic Patrols. The male is now in custody for numerous driving offences and his vehicle seized

Another vehicle decided that he could drive at double the speed limit through Burnley Town Centre. When stopped the driver said he was doing “35” and “it was his first time driving like this”. Need less to say those excuses didn't wash as he was sent walking home with his vehicle seized

We were then suprised when we saw a lot of sleeping bags and roll mats in the grounds of St Peters. We spoke to several lovely people who were doing a sponsered sleep out for homeless charities and work in and around Burnley

As Police we rarely have an opportunity to highlight the genuinely positive work in our communities however this shows that there are those who care about the most vulnerable in our communities. For more information please search for The Big Street Sleep Out - Burnley

Many thanks
