🔥 BONFIRE & FIREWORK SAFETY REMINDER 🔥 As the evenings get darker and bonfire celebrations take place, please help keep your family, neighbours, pets and community safe. ✅ Build bonfires well away from roads, trees, hedges, fences and buildings. ✅ Let your neighbours know in advance so they can close windows, bring washing in and keep pets safe. ✅ Check for overhead cables and wires before lighting. ✅ Always check the bonfire for wildlife, pets or children who may have climbed inside. ✅ Keep a bucket of water, hose or sand nearby in case of emergency. ✅ Supervise bonfires at all times and keep spectators at a safe distance. ❌ Never use flammable liquids to start a fire. ❌ Never throw fireworks onto a bonfire. ❌ Never burn household waste, tyres, aerosols, paint tins, gas canisters or other hazardous materials. These can release toxic fumes or explode, causing serious injury. 🌿 If you're clearing garden waste, please consider composting or using your local refuse collection service instead. Burning waste should always be a last resort. 💙 Please be considerate of your neighbours, particularly those with respiratory conditions or other health concerns that may be affected by smoke, and think about the impact on the local environment. Let's all enjoy the season safely and responsibly. | BONFIRE & FIREWORK SAFETY REMINDER | 🔥 BONFIRE & FIREWORK SAFETY REMINDER 🔥
