❄️🚗 WINTER VEHICLE SAFETY – STAY SAFE ON THE ROADS 🚗❄️ As the colder weather approaches, Staffordshire Police would like to remind motorists to take extra care when travelling during the winter months. 🌨️ Before setting off, remember: ✅ Check your tyres – Ensure they have sufficient tread and are correctly inflated. ✅ Clear your windows – Remove ice, snow and condensation from all windows and mirrors before driving. ✅ Check your lights – Make sure all vehicle lights are clean and working correctly. ✅ Top up your fluids – Check your screen wash contains antifreeze and ensure your coolant is suitable for winter conditions. ✅ Allow extra time – Reduce your speed and increase your stopping distance in icy or wet conditions. ✅ Be prepared – Keep a warm coat, blanket, torch, phone charger and other emergency essentials in your vehicle. 🔐 DON'T FORGET VEHICLE SECURITY! 🚫 Never leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running while defrosting. 🔑 Always lock your vehicle and remove valuables from sight. ⚠️ Remember: Even a short journey can become dangerous in poor weather conditions. 👮♀️ Your local policing team is encouraging everyone to drive responsibly and help keep Staffordshire's roads safe this winter. 🚨 In an emergency, call 999. 📞 For non-emergencies, call 101. Stay safe, stay prepared and drive to the conditions. #StaffordshirePolice #SmartAlert #WinterDriving #RoadSafety #VehicleSecurity #StaySafe | ||
