A Skegness man has been sentenced to 24 weeks in prison for multiple Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) breaches. He was further sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, to run concurrently, for four shop theft offences. Scott Cutts, 40, of no fixed address, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Monday 2 November where he admitted breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order imposed by Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court on 1 August 2025. The court heard that he entered retail premises on five separate occasions, contrary to the conditions of the order. He also pleaded guilty to: Theft from a shop on 29 October – he stole meat to the value of £100 belonging to M&S Simply and was ordered to pay compensation of £100. Theft from a shop on 30 October – he stole chocolate to the value of £72 belonging to Morrisons Supermarket and was ordered to pay compensation of £72. Theft from a shop on 31 October – he stole chocolate to the value of £82.50 belonging to Coop and was ordered to pay £82.50. Theft from a shop on 1 November – stole a drink to the value of £1.35 belonging to Asda filling station and was ordered to pay £1.35. Inspector Jacky Evans of East Lindsey’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This offender has repeatedly targeted local businesses and continued to breach the conditions imposed upon him. This custodial sentence demonstrates that persistent offending and breaches of court orders have consequences. “There is a common misconception that shop theft is only investigated when the value exceeds a certain amount. That is not the case. We recognise the harm these offences cause and will continue to take robust action against prolific offenders. We urge members of the public and businesses to continue reporting instances of shop theft to us via our website or by calling 101.”
