🚓 Recent Police Activity

Patrols Conducted:

Throughout October I have conducted patrols in the identified priority areas for this month. On Kingsway, I have focused on reports of antisocial driving. Anti-Social Behaviour at Burnage Library, I have carried out patrols to address ongoing antisocial behaviour. There has been a spike in youths causing ASB with fireworks causing harm to others but also an unknown risk to themselves.

Notable Incidents:

Following a pursuit by the specialist GMP Traffic resources a suspected stolen vehicle that travelled through Burnage at high speed through red lights was stopped, a male was subsequently located, arrested, and taken into custody for theft of the car.

Arrests/Warnings Issued:

02/11/2026 – After officers sighted a vehicle driving at speed the vehicle then failed to stop for police before stopping and providing a positive breath sample so was subsequently arrested

02/11/2026 – After a proactive patrol vehicle was stopped whereby the driver was found to have no license or insurance, the vehicle was seized and driver arrested on suspicion on theft of the motor vehicle.

Coffee with a Cop is a community policing initiative where local police officers meet members of the public in an informal setting, such as a café, coffee shop, or community centre.

November – Burnage Library - Wednesday 18th November 2026 – 14:00-16:00

December – Dahlia Café - Wednesday 9th December 2026 – 11:00-13:00

January – Costa Coffee - Wednesday 20th January 2027 – 11:00-13:00

February – Burnage Library - Wednesday 10th February 2027- 11:00-13:00

March – Dahlia Café - Wednesday 24th March 2027 - 11:00-13:00

April – Costa Coffee - Wednesday 14th April 2027 - 11:00-13:00

Resident Feedback:

Positive feedback has been given from the Burnage Library staff to thank the police with increased presence & attention to help deter the consistent ASB the library has been facing whereby staff have been harassed and book cases broken.
