Great Finborough - Police urge vigilance after car damaged in suspected sales scam |

People selling vehicles are advised to remain vigilant after potential car selling scams were recently reported in Suffolk in attempts to reduce the purchase price.
During Monday afternoon 2 November sometime between 2.58pm – 3.26pm, two unknown male suspects have attended an address in Middlefield Drive to view a car advertised for sale.
While one of the suspects distracted the owner, the other male sprayed oil in the engine. The male suspects suggested that something was wrong with the car to reduce the cost of the car. The owner became suspicious and did not sell the car.
Potential sellers of vehicles are asked to be mindful of who they invite to view their vehicles and always monitor their actions. They are also advised to retain all vehicle documentation such as logbooks/V5s prior to the transaction being completed.
