Detectives investigating a serious assault in Chandler’s Ford on Saturday night (31 October) have arrested two teenage boys in connection with the incident. The 17-year-old and 16-year-old, both from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody at this time. The arrests follow a report just after 10.30pm that five teenage boys, three aged 16 and two aged 17, had been stabbed. The victims had been invited to and attended a supervised party at an address in Park Road. When officers arrived at the scene, it was reported that a group of uninvited males had gained entry to the party via a garden fence and then assaulted the five guests within the garden and surrounding roads. Two boys remain in hospital having suffered serious injuries. One of the 17-year-old victims is in a life-threatening condition. The other three victims have been discharged from hospital. Officers continue to carry out enquiries at the scene, speaking with witnesses, identifying CCTV and other available footage. Throughout today and the coming week, local officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team are visiting local schools and colleges to offer further advice and reassurance, as well as to support those directly and indirectly affected by this incident. Scenes currently remain in place near to the address on Park Road. Please come and speak to officers in the area if you have any concerns or information you would like to discuss and share with them. Senior investigating officer DCI Elizabeth Pirie said: "Whilst the two arrests are a significant development in our investigation, which has moved at pace since the incident was first reported to us, we still urge our communities to contact us with any information, no matter how small it may seem. “I understand the effect that such an incident will have had on the local community, and I do not underestimate the disruption that our scenes have caused to those living in the area. We are working hard to reduce the impact. “We are extremely grateful for the understanding of our communities whilst we continue working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident. "If you were at the party and have not spoken with officers yet, or you have any CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera footage covering Park Road and the surrounding area, then please get in touch.” You can contact us by calling 101, and quoting the reference 44260534624, or by going to our website: How to tell us about an existing case or report | Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary You can also submit information, 100 per cent anonymously, through the independent charity Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111, or on their website - Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously | Crimestoppers
