A precautionary message to parents and carers in Milton Keynes

We're posting the following information for local community awareness after a child became unwell having consumed sweets believed to have contained THC, the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis.

At this stage, we have not established where the sweets came from and enquiries are ongoing. We are not aware of any other similar reports but are sharing this information as a precaution.

If you still have any Halloween sweets at home, please take a moment to check them. 

In particular, look out for the product shown in the accompanying image, which appears to be a THC-infused "Medicated Nerds" sweet.

If you find sweets like those pictured, please do not consume them. Keep them safe and contact Thames Valley Police.

We would also like to hear from anyone who may have consumed similar sweets and experienced any ill effects, or anyone who has information about where they may have come from.
