BONFIRE NIGHT - STAY SAFE AND ENJOY RESPONSIBLY! With Bonfire Night approaching, South Wales Police is reminding everyone to stay safe and look out for one another while enjoying the celebrations. Fireworks and bonfires can be great fun when enjoyed safely, but they can also cause serious injuries, damage to property and distress to others if used irresponsibly.
Please follow these important safety tips; Firework Safety: Only buy fireworks from reputable, licensed retailers and follow the instructions carefully. Never throw fireworks or return to a firework once it has been lit. Bonfire Safety: Attend organised displays wherever possible. Keep a safe distance from bonfires and never use petrol or other flammable liquids to start or accelerate a fire. Think Of Others: Fireworks can be frightening for pets, young children and vulnerable people. Please be considerate of your neighbours and those whom may find the noise distressing. Stay Away From Anti-Social Behaviour: Throwing fireworks, lighting fires in public places or damaging property can have serious consequences and put lives at risk. Keep Our Roads Safe : Be mindful of pedestrians, particularly children, and never allow fireworks to be used near roads or moving vehicles. Report Concerns: If you witness dangerous or anti -social behaviour, report it to South Wales Police via 101 for non emergency and in an emergency , or if someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
Lets work together to make Bonfire Night enjoyable and safe for everyone.
Enjoy the celebrations, stay safe and be considerate of your community.
