Bonfire Night Safety

🎆 Bonfire Night Safety Reminder 🎆

As Bonfire Night approaches, your local Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely and responsibly.

✅ Attend organised fireworks displays whenever possible.
✅ Keep a safe distance from fireworks and follow all safety instructions.
✅ Never return to a firework once it has been lit.
✅ Keep pets indoors and ensure they have a quiet, safe space.
✅ Supervise children at all times around fireworks, sparklers and bonfires.
✅ If using sparklers, wear gloves and hold them at arm's length. Place used sparklers in a bucket of water once finished.
✅ Ensure bonfires are positioned well away from buildings, fences, sheds and vehicles.

🚫 It is illegal and dangerous to throw fireworks in public places or towards people, vehicles or property. Misuse of fireworks can result in serious injury and police action.

🚗 If you are driving, be mindful of increased pedestrian activity and reduced visibility caused by smoke from fireworks and bonfires.

📞 In an emergency, always call 999. For non-emergency concerns, report incidents via 101 or online at www.met.police.uk.

Let's all work together to ensure everyone enjoys a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night.
