Good Evening Resident,
Dangerous, careless and inconsiderate driving can put everyone at risk. If you witness a traffic offence, reporting what you have seen can help make our roads safer.
👀 What Can You Report?
🚗 Dangerous or careless driving. 📱 A driver using a mobile phone while driving. 🚦 Drivers failing to comply with traffic lights or road signs. 🏎️ Excessive or dangerous speeding. 🚲 Driving that puts cyclists, pedestrians or other road users at risk. 🚘 Other driving behaviour that you believe may constitute a road traffic offence.
📹 Do You Have Dashcam or Video Footage?
🎥 Dashcam, helmet-camera or other video footage may provide useful evidence when reporting a traffic offence. 🕐 Keep the original footage and make a note of the date, time and location of the incident. 🚘 Record the vehicle registration, make, model or colour if you can safely do so. 👀 Remember, never put yourself at risk or use your phone while driving in order to capture evidence.
📝 Providing the Right Information
When making a report, provide as much accurate information as you can. 📍 Where the incident happened. 🕐 When it happened. 🚙 The vehicle registration and description, if known. 👤 A description of the driver, where possible. 📝 A clear account of what you witnessed. 📹 Details of any supporting footage or other evidence you have.
⚠️ Don't Put Yourself at Risk 🚫 Do not follow or confront another driver. 📱 If you are driving, do not use your mobile phone to photograph, record or report an incident. 🛑 Find a safe and legal place to stop before using your phone. Your safety and the safety of other road users should always come first.
Report any traffic offences that you see to the Metropolitan Police Website - Report a Traffic Incident 🔴 Call 999 if a crime is happening now, someone is in immediate danger, violence is being used or threatened, or the suspect is still at the scene. | ||
