Scam callers impersonating Hertfordshire police officers

Scam callers impersonating Hertfordshire police officers

Dear residents,

Fraudsters have been calling residents posing as Hertfordshire police officers.

The calls appear to come from a legitimate Herts Police number (01707 35 4000) which has been spoofed. The scammer often knows the name of the person they are calling and claims to be contacting them because their details have been stolen in a cyber-attack.

If you receive a report of someone calling claiming to be a Hertfordshire Police officer, refer the report to Report Fraud, unless there is immediate risk of harm/financial loss or the victim is vulnerable.
