Halloween Proactive Patrol Result and safeguarding 🎃🚔

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Alcohol, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Halloween Proactive Patrol Result 🎃🚔
While carrying out proactive patrols on Friday evening, Chatham Beat Officers stopped a vehicle after identifying traffic offences.
Further enquiries and searches of the vehicle and its occupants led officers to locate and seize a quantity of Class A, B and C drugs, which officers suspected were intended for supply within Medway's night-time economy.
Two individuals were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and remain subject to ongoing investigation.
This is another positive result demonstrating how proactive policing and vehicle stops can play a key role in disrupting criminal activity, removing drugs from our communities, and helping to keep residents safe.
If you have concerns about drug dealing or anti-social behaviour in your area, please continue to report information to Kent Police. Community information remains vital in helping us target those involved in criminality.

If you are a victim of, or concerned about alcohol abuse in your community, the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 outlines roles and responsibilities of the police and partners in tackling such issues. It aims to put victims first, giving power to local people and enabling professionals to find the best solutions for their local area.

The act provides the police, local authorities and other local agencies with flexible tools and powers that they can use to respond quickly and effectively to antisocial behaviour.

These include:

• civil injunctions.
• criminal behaviour orders.
• public spaces protection orders.
• community protection notices.
• dispersal powers.
• closure powers.

The act also includes measures such as the Community Remedy and anti-social behaviour case reviews which empower victims and communities to have a say in the outcome of their reports and hold agencies to account.

If you or someone close to you requires help to address an alcohol problem, more information can be found at Alcohol support - NHS, or Honest information about drugs | FRANK.

If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.kent.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
