🚔 OPERATION TARGETING ILLEGAL E-BIKES AND E-SCOOTERS – READING Following concerns raised by members of our local community about the dangerous and antisocial use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters, officers from the Reading Neighbourhood Team have been taking action. We recently carried out a targeted operation, supported by the Roads Policing Tasking Team. The operation involved the use of unmarked police vehicles and police motorbikes to identify and target those using illegal e-bikes and e-scooters. The result? A total of 38 e-bikes and e-scooters seized! 👊 These vehicles will subsequently be destroyed, meaning they will not be returning to our streets. We recognise the concerns being raised by residents about the dangers these vehicles can pose to pedestrians, other road users and the wider community, as well as the antisocial behaviour associated with their use. We are listening, and we are taking action. This operation is part of our ongoing commitment to making Reading a safer place for everyone. We will continue to target those who disregard the law and put others at risk. A big thank you to the community members who continue to share information and raise concerns with us. Your feedback helps us direct our resources where they are needed most. You said it was a problem. We listened. We acted. | ||
