Theft from Motor Vehicle - Various Locations - Borehamwood

Between - 27/10/2026 08:45 to 27/10/2026 11:45, Village Hotel, Centennial Park, Centennial Avenue, Elstree, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, WD6 3SB

Crime Ref - 41/103401/26

The victim is reporting that their van has been broken into and their work tools have been stolen.

The victim has parked their vehicle within the hotel car park whilst working across the road in a industrial unit when they have been informed by a colleague that their was a hole in the side of their van.

The victim has gone to check their van and discovered that a hole has been cut into the side of the van, to an unknown value, and a chop saw, another saw and a number of power tools have been stolen from their vehicle.

Between - 27/10/2026 18:00 to 28/10/2026 08:00, Nicholas Hawksmoor Drive, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, WD6 1AZ -

Caller is reporting that their rear index plate has been unscrewed and stolen from their car. The vehicle was parked on the drive between 1800 on 27/10/2026, and noticed it stolen at 0800 on 28/10/2026. CCTV unknown.

Between material times, offender(s) have stolen victims number plates by unknown means and has left in an unknown direction.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers and steering wheel locks.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
