Priority 1: Drug Dealing You said: Issues re drug dealing in the local community. What we are going to do: Patrols are taking place throughout the day and night and stop search powers are being utilised where grounds permit. Anyone found with illegal substances on them are being dealt with accordingly. Further patrols are also taking place throughout hot spot areas to build up intelligence that can be acted on. Please continue to report any suspicious activity to us. Priority 2: Road Safety You said: Speeding and road safety on the beat is a concern for you. The beat team seized a car and the driver was dealt with by issuing a traffic offence report (TOR) for driving without insurance. The Beat team also attended a RTC where by the driver was driving on a provisional licence and had two bold tyres. They will now be dealt with accordingly. Priority 3: Anti-social Behaviour It is now the School summer Holidays so extra patrols will take place to minamize anti social behaviour and general crim inality. You Said: Concerns raised relating to youth related Anti Social Behaviour. What we are going to do: Support residents on an individual basis where complaints are made, challenge those involved and work with partner agencies to implement outcomes. Complete targeted patrols where identified to disrupt and challenge behaviour. These issues can occur anywhere, so we rely on your communication to tackle these issues.

In response, PCSO Fen Rushby and colleagues have been carrying out speed monitoring operations at various locations across the beat. Following concerns from local residents, patrols have been increased in identified hotspot areas, with officers gathering information and conducting enforcement activity where necessary. Speeding remains a significant concern, posing risks to pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting concerns so the team can build an accurate picture of problem areas and target resources where they are needed most. Working together, we can make NR32 Town North a safer place for everyone. ð§ïļ Road Safety Operations ContinueDespite some challenging weather conditions, PCSO Fen has been hard at work conducting speed checks across the beat. A recent operation on Welby Lane saw PCSO Fen working alongside PCSO French and personnel from the Defence Animal Training Regiment (DATR). The activity followed concerns regarding the safety of staff and road users around the base and forms part of a wider programme of work aimed at improving road safety. The following day, speed monitoring continued on Pork Pie Way, where officers were pleased to see strong support from both partners and members of the public. A special thank you goes to all the motorists who offered a friendly wave while passing by... using all five fingers! ðð ð Shop Thief Learns Running Isn't Always the AnswerOne of the standout incidents recently involved PC O'Rourke and colleagues whilst carrying out patrols at a local Tesco store. Officers observed a male acting suspiciously and suspected not all of his shopping had made it through the checkout process. When approached, the male opted for a sudden sprint rather than a conversation with officers. Unfortunately for him, he found himself competing against three police officers who were more than willing to accept the challenge. After a brief foot chase, the male was detained and subsequently dealt with for the offences. He will now be appearing before the courts at a future date. The incident demonstrates the importance of proactive patrols in preventing shop theft and keeping local businesses and communities safe. ðĶĒ An Unexpected Wildlife RescueNot every patrol involves crime fighting. While carrying out patrols around Holland Road following reports of drug-related activity, PCSO Fen came across a distressed swan family. After hearing repeated calls from a swan and her two cygnets, he discovered a fourth cygnet trapped in dense thorny undergrowth at the water's edge. Following a careful rescue operation, which resulted in the sacrifice of one jacket, the young bird was safely freed and reunited with its family before they continued on their journey together. A great reminder that no two shifts in neighbourhood policing are ever quite the same. ð Parking: A Masterclass in What Not To DoOfficers recently came across a vehicle that appeared determined to break as many parking rules as possible. The vehicle was: â
Parked on double yellow lines To make matters worse, it had already received a parking ticket. Due to the dangerous obstruction being caused, the vehicle was seized and will not be returned until the insurance issues have been resolved. A gentle reminder that pavements are for pedestrians, double yellow lines mean no parking, and insurance is a legal requirement, not an optional extra. ð Busy Patrols Across the AreaThe team has continued responding to a wide range of incidents throughout recent shifts. Working alongside neighbouring officers, incidents attended have included: These incidents highlight the variety of issues neighbourhood officers deal with each day whilst working to keep local communities safe. ðŪ From PCSO Fen & PC O'RourkeWe would like to thank everyone who continues to engage with us, report concerns and support our work across the community. Your information helps us identify issues, target our patrols and take positive action where it is most needed. Whether we're tackling speeding, responding to incidents, pursuing offenders, safeguarding vulnerable people, or rescuing trapped cygnets, we're committed to being visible and active in your community. #InYourCommunity #YouSaidWeDid ððPCSO Fen Rushby 6193 & PC O'Rourke 2170
