Winter Watch

Winter Watch

Dear Members,

The clocks have gone back and the dark evenings are with us so we will be on our Winter Watch patrols again. Winter Watch patrols are only 1 hour duration lead by the police which is a great opportunity to talk and learn about police work and provides an interesting experience. The roads patrolled have been chosen from police data that shows they are vulnerable and have had burglaries in the past.  Usually, we each pair up with a member of the police and post crime prevention information through the letterbox of those properties which look potentially at risk.

The police are committing significant manpower to the Winter Watch patrols because they are effective in crime prevention. Therefore, I would like to ask for volunteers to join in the patrols please. This is our opportunity to support the police supporting us. The dates and areas to be patrolled are shown below. Many thanks to the members who have already volunteered.

Watch coordinators would you please pass on this request for volunteers to your members and let me know at wokingchair@surreynhw.org.uk which ones you are able to attend. Thank you.
