Emergency services attended the scene within five minutes of the call. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished by the London Fire Brigade.
One person was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service for breathing difficulties. Fortunately, no other injuries have been reported.
Following the incident, residents were temporarily evacuated while safety checks were carried out throughout the building. These checks have now been completed and residents have been permitted to return to their homes, with the exception of those living in the affected flats. Hackney Council is currently arranging temporary accommodation for residents of the affected properties until it is safe and appropriate for them to return. Following enquiries by London Fire Brigade fire investigators, the incident has been declared non-suspicious. We would like to thank residents for their patience, cooperation, and understanding while emergency services dealt with the incident. Reference: CAD 3235/28OCT26. | ||
