Dispersal order issued for New Tredegar A dispersal order is being put in place to help tackle anti-social behaviour. It will come into effect from 4pm this evening and will remain in place for the next 48 with consideration of a further extension from Friday 31st October.
The order covers the area shown on the map attached below, including - Commercial StreetJames streetTredegar RoadDuffryn TerraceWhite Rose WayGeorge StreetMorgan Street A dispersal order gives our officers extra powers to direct groups to leave the area if their behaviour is likely to contribute to disorder or cause harassment, alarm or distress to members of the public. If they return to that area after being moved on, they face being arrested.
While we want everyone to enjoy themselves safely and responsibly at this time of year, we will not hesitate to take decisive action against people intent on acting anti-socially, because we know it has such a harmful impact on our communities We will be patrolling this week and across the weekend and will take action against anyone intent on causing harm and disorder.
Anti-Social Behaviour and criminal damage will never be tolerated, and we'll be working with our colleagues from British Transport Police to help safeguard our communities; so stay away from this area if you are intent on travelling to this area to commit ASB.
We’d ask that parents ensure they know where their children are at all times, particularly while the dispersal order is in effect and to support us when we work with the local community to tackle this recent increase in ASB.
We urge members of the public to report any concerns they have about anti-social behaviour to us by calling 101, messaging us on our Facebook or X social media channels, or reporting it online. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online. If it's an emergency and you need police assistance immediately, always dial 999
