You may have noticed an increased police presence on Kentish Town High Road this week. This was part of a day of action, carried out by our officers in response to concerns raised by the local community regarding two-wheeled vehicle offences in the area. Working alongside Transport for London (TfL), Civil Enforcement Agents and specialist police colleagues, officers took part in targeted enforcement activity aimed at addressing those concerns and improving road safety. During the day, we stopped 40 vehicles across two locations. As part of our checks we seized 10 vehicles, including two cars, issued 27 fixed penalty notices to cyclists for not obeying road laws, reported three drivers for no insurance, and arrested three offenders for non-motoring offences. Sergeant Joe Panton said: "Today's operation was a direct response to concerns raised by the local community regarding two-wheeled vehicle offences along Kentish Town High Road. “Your Safer Neighbourhood Teams were supported by colleagues from TfL, Civil Enforcement Agents, and colleagues from our specialist Vehicle Enforcement Team in an operation designed to address the issues raised with us. Listening to our communities and taking action is at the heart of neighbourhood policing. By working together with our partners, we are tackling the issues that matter most to residents, improving road safety, and helping to make Kentish Town High Road a safer place for everyone." Officers received live feedback from residents during the operation, with residents being overwhelmingly grateful and complimentary about the activity taking place. | ||
