NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING AND PREVENTION UPDATE.

Monthly Community Update from Sgt Andrew Williams – October 2026

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. As we move through October, I wanted to share a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our local area, what’s coming up, and how we’re working together to keep our community safe and thriving.

🔍 Local Priorities

Our current focus areas include:

Priority 1 - Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour - Focussing on reducing youth related anti-social behaviour across the local community and Town Centres.

Priority 2 - Combating Shoplifting and Retail Crime - Implementing High Visibility Patrols and increasing business interaction - such as rolling out the “Steal and Be Banned Scheme” to protect local retailers.

Priority 3 - Addressing illegal vehicle use - Targeting antisocial use of cars, as well as the illegal operation of e-scooters and electric/scrambler bikes within the towns.

We’re continuing patrols and targeted operations in these areas and welcome any feedback or concerns you’d like to raise.

🤝 Partnership Working

We’ve been working closely with:

Trading Standards

Immigration

OP CECE

HMRC

MAWWFRS - Business Safety

National Crime Agency

PCC licensing team

PCC - Noise Pollution team

All the above were involved in visiting high-street premises under the National Crime Agency Campaign called OP MACHINIZE, which targets grey economy store fronts, such as certain barber shops, vape stores and other high street retailers - disrupting criminal networks use as fronts to disguise illicit financial flows. The primary goals of the initiative include;

Disrupting money laundering, seizing illicit goods, safeguarding vulnerable people.

These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs.

We have also been working with Pembrokeshire County Council on GO SAFE to report Anti-social driving to the OP SNAP team.
