Two drug dealers have been jailed following an investigation which has taken up to £775,000-worth of drugs off our streets. Jake Dubiel, 28, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, was found to be selling large amount of cocaine and cannabis to Adrian Stoker, 61, also of Newcastle-under-Lyme, who was acting as a courier himself. In February this year, Dubiel was stopped by officers when he was driving an Audi. He tried to put the car in reverse at the time but was stopped when officers smashed the window and handcuffed him. A JD Sports bag on the passenger seat was searched. It contained two one-kilo bricks of cocaine. Two mobile phones were also seized and sent for examination. Stoker was stopped a few short distance away from the car. He had a small amount of drugs and £21,000 in cash on him, which roughly amounted to the street value of one-kilo brick of cocaine. Dubiel’s home was then searched. We found cannabis and more cash. A key that was found in Dubiel’s car at the time of his arrest was also used to open an industrial container in the area. Inside, officers found a safe containing a further two one-kilo bricks of cocaine. More cannabis was also found inside the unit. We also searched Stoker’s home and found more cannabis and cash. The collective street value of the cocaine seized in this investigation is estimated between £480,000 to £600,000. The collective street value of the cannabis seized is estimated between £113,000 to £175,000. Both men were jailed at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court today (Friday 23 October). Jake Dubiel pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug – cocaine, conspiracy to supply a class B controlled drug – cannabis, possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug – cocaine and possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug – cannabis. He was jailed for seven and a half years. Adrian Stoker admitted conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug – cocaine, possessing a controlled drug of class A – cocaine and acquiring criminal property. He was jailed for three years and four months. Detective Superintendent Dan Ison, from the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU), said: “By working proactively to act on intelligence, we’ve been able to take nearly a million-pounds-worth of drugs off our streets and out of the hands of organised criminals exploiting local people for profit. “I know that lots of people living and working in Staffordshire are concerned about drug dealing and organised crime in their communities. That’s why we’re continuing our relentless pursuit of the groups and gangs pedalling these harmful and highly addictive substances on our streets.” To report drug dealing near you, call us on 101 or report online using our website.
