🎆 Enjoy Bonfire Night Safely: Celebrate, Be Responsible, Stay Safe 🎇

Dear Resident

Bonfire Night is a popular occasion for families, friends and communities to come together and enjoy fireworks displays and celebrations. By taking a few simple precautions, you can help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening.

✅ Attend Organised Events Where Possible

🎇 Consider attending organised firework displays run by experienced professionals.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Organised events are often safer, larger and more enjoyable for families and communities.

🎆 Firework Safety

📖 Always read and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

👀 Never return to a firework once it has been lit.

🚫 Never throw fireworks or aim them at people, animals, vehicles or property.

🧒 Ensure children are supervised at all times around fireworks.

💧 Keep a bucket of water or other suitable means of extinguishing nearby.

🔥 Bonfire Safety

📍 Build bonfires well away from buildings, fences, sheds, vehicles and overhead cables.

🐾 Check bonfires carefully for animals that may have sought shelter before lighting.

🚫 Never use flammable liquids such as petrol to start or revive a fire.

👀 Never leave a bonfire unattended.

🐶 Think About Pets and Wildlife

🏠 Keep pets indoors where possible and ensure they have a safe, quiet space.

🚪 Make sure gardens and enclosures are secure, as loud noises can cause animals to panic and escape.

🐾 Be mindful of local wildlife when planning bonfires and firework displays.

🚗 Parking and Road Safety

🚶 Expect increased traffic and larger crowds around popular display locations.

🚗 Park considerately and avoid blocking roads, driveways or emergency access routes.

💡 Wear bright or reflective clothing if walking near roads after dark.

🚨 Report Dangerous Behaviour

📞 Call 999 if there is an immediate risk to life, serious disorder, or a crime in progress.

📞 Use 101 or online reporting for non-emergency incidents.

💙 Remember

Bonfire Night should be an evening of celebration, not accidents or injuries.

Be considerate of your neighbours, respect your community, and put safety first so everyone can enjoy the festivities.

🎆 Stay safe, stay responsible, and enjoy Bonfire Night. 🎆
