Blue Shoes Exhibition comes to Skelmersdale |

|
The powerful Blue Shoes Exhibition will visit the Concourse Shopping Centre in Skelmersdale on Thursday, 29 October. The exhibition, created by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw and Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse, features 150 pairs of shoes. Painted blue by Fylde Coast Women's Aid, the shoes represent 150 suspected suicides linked to domestic abuse in 2025. The exhibition forms part of the campaign for Kiena's Law. Kiena Dawes, a young mother from Lancashire tragically took her own life in July 2022 after experiencing prolonged domestic abuse. Her death drew widespread attention, highlighting the devastating long-term impact domestic abuse can have and raising questions about whether more could have been done to protect her. The campaign calls for a new offence to hold perpetrators accountable when abuse contributes to a victim's suicide. The Skelmersdale exhibition is supported by the Liberty Centre which provides support to adults, young people, and children impacted by domestic abuse across West Lancashire. The exhibition will be in the Concourse Shopping Centre between 11am and 2pm. You can also sign the online petition at change.org/kienas-law.
