Two men jailed for stealing high-value bikes during Fleet ram-raid burglary

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Burglary - Other (Shed / Garage Break-ins), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Two men have been jailed for a combined total of three-and-a-half years after they stole high-value bikes during a ram-raid burglary in Fleet.

Kurtis Lamptey, 37, and Yanis Yaqeen, 33, each drove a Ford van to Pedal Heaven on Fleet Road at around 1.30am on Wednesday 1 April.

Yaqeen then reversed into the front of the store to force entry. Once inside, the pair stole eight bikes worth more than £15,000 and placed them into the second van. A further 21 bikes were damaged as a result of the break-in.

Officers deployed to the area and found the van, which contained the stolen bikes, on a driveway in Blackwater.

The other van was later located in Fleet. The court heard both vehicles contained DNA that was a match for Lamptey and Yaqeen.
