Burglary alert

Burglary alert

On Sunday 25/10/2026 at 5.40am police were called to Ladbrokes on Green Lanes after an alarm activation. On police arrival one male was arrested inside the premises. He was since been charged for burglary.

On Thursday 22/10/2026 at approximately 9.21pm on Riverway, three males attempted to force open the UPVC front door of a house near Hazelwood Lane. The owners of the house were home and challenged them and they went back to a dark coloured BMW and drove off towards The Crest. No entry was gained to the house. The front door sustained damaged around the lock.

Now the clocks have gone back burglars get an extra hour of darkness. Please leave a light on in your property or set up a timer switch to turn lights on for you.

If you are the owner of a UPVC door or a new door with a locking system. Please check when you leave or enter the property that you have pulled the door handle upwards, inserted the key and locked it to make use of the three or five point locking system.

If you have a burglar alarm fitted don't forget to set it when you go out even if it is only for a short period of time. If you don't have a burglar alarm fitted please consider fitting one.
