During a recent visit to the Palace of Westminster, we were reminded of the long struggle for women to have their voices heard. Recalling In 1911, suffragette Emily Wilding Davison hidding overnight in a cupboard in Parliament to make a statement about women's representation. Over a century later, a key question remains: Do women and girls feel heard, respected and safe in everyday life — at home, in our communities and online? In today's era, from unwanted sexual images and the sharing of intimate photographs without consent to harassment, controlling behaviour and feeling unsafe in public spaces, everyday attitudes and actions can have a lasting impact.. Please join your local Safer Neighbourhood Team for an open, respectful conversation about what these issues mean to our community and what we can do together to make a difference. 📍 Local library — coffee area You don't need to share personal experiences to take part. Bring your questions, views and ideas. Every voice matters. A safer community starts with listening, respect and the willingness to challenge harmful behaviour. #VAWG #MetEngage #CommunitySafety #SaferTogether
