Anti-Social Behaviour - Hartsmead Estate |
Dear Resident, The Ashton Hurst Neighbourhood Team attended an address on the Hartsmead Estate on 24 October 2026 to speak with a resident regarding reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) that occurred on the evening of the 23rd October. The reported behaviour involved unknown youths carrying out what is commonly known as "knock-a-door-runaway." During our visit, we were informed that other residents and addresses on the estate may have experienced similar incidents. However, a review of police records has identified no additional reports relating to this behaviour at this time. What is Anti-Social Behaviour?Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) is conduct that has caused, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to another person. It can also include behaviour that causes nuisance or annoyance to members of the local community. Whilst some incidents may not constitute criminal offences, they can nevertheless have a significant impact on individuals, families and neighbourhoods. We recognise that behaviour which may appear minor or low-level in isolation can have a considerable effect on those affected, particularly where incidents are repeated or form part of an ongoing pattern. For this reason, all reports of anti-social behaviour are assessed on their individual merits, and we take all reports seriously, regardless of their perceived severity. What are we doing? In response to the concerns raised, we have created a Problem Solving Record (PRB/06GG/0000415/26) for anti-social behaviour on the Hartsmead Estate. This will allow us to monitor reports, identify patterns, work with partner agencies where appropriate, and take suitable action to address any emerging issues and will be open for 28 days.
How can residents help?We would encourage all residents to report any incidents of anti-social behaviour occurring on the estate. If you have recently been affected by ASB and have not yet reported it, please reply to this email with details of the incident. For any new incidents, please report them through our official reporting channels: Phone Non-Emergency: 101 Online: www.gmp.police.uk Reporting incidents through these channels helps us build an accurate picture of what is occurring within the community, identify repeat locations or offenders, and ensure police resources are deployed effectively. It is important to note that the Ashton Hurst Neighbourhood Team is not always on duty, and reporting through official channels ensures that information is recorded and assessed promptly. Thank you for your assistance and continued support in helping us keep the Hartsmead Estate a safe place to live. Kind regards,
Ashton Hurst Neighbourhood Team | ||
