Could you help keep your Risley Neighbourhood Watch active? Important South Derbyshire update

Your local Risley Neighbourhood Watch needs someone to help keep it going. Could that person be you?

We're getting in touch because our records show that your Neighbourhood Watch currently has no active registered Coordinator.

We'd really like to change that, particularly as we're launching a new burglary text alert pilot across South Derbyshire as part of our Darker Nights campaign.

The pilot is designed to help neighbourhoods stay informed about relevant burglary incidents, giving residents an opportunity to share information and take steps to protect their homes.
 

Unfortunately, without a registered Coordinator, your Watch won't be able to receive these pilot text alerts.

And that's something we'd love to avoid.
 

Could you spare a little time to help your neighbours?

Being a Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator doesn't have to involve lots of meetings or paperwork.

In fact, you can keep things really simple.

When suitable burglary information is shared with you through the pilot, you can pass it on to your neighbours using you NW system login for current members or WhatsApp, Facebook or whichever method works for your Watch.

It's about keeping people informed, encouraging neighbours to look out for one another and helping create a safer community.

We also need to update our Watch records.

Every active Neighbourhood Watch needs a registered Coordinator who can act as a point of contact.

Unfortunately, if nobody is able to take on this role, we will need to close your Watch on our active records.

We would much rather help someone keep it going.

If you're happy to become the Coordinator, or would simply like to find out a little more before deciding, please reply to this email.

We'll explain what's involved and support you through the process.

Please get in touch within 14 days of receiving this email so we can establish whether your Watch can remain active.

We hope someone in your neighbourhood will be able to step forward. It would be a real shame for your community to miss out on this new initiative.
