Storm Austen - We're here for you

Good morning All,

Just a quick message from me as Storm Austen starts to make its way across the area.

We've already had a number of calls relating to fallen trees, debris on the roads and other weather-related issues, and it's likely that conditions could worsen as the storm continues. If you're out and about, please take your time, slow down, and be prepared for unexpected hazards around the next bend.

I know many of us still need to get to work, school and other commitments, but if a journey can wait, it may be worth considering. No journey is worth taking a risk for!

Please also keep an eye on family members, neighbours and friends who may be more vulnerable during the bad weather. A quick phone call or knock on the door can make a real difference.

My colleagues and I will be out and about across the area, dealing with incidents as they arise and doing our best to keep people safe. If you come across an emergency or there's an immediate danger to life, please call 999 straight away.

Above all, look after yourselves, drive carefully, and don't take unnecessary chances in the conditions.

Stay safe everyone,

PC Ben Cole 🚔
