Suspect Charged Following Retail Theft Investigation |

|
Officers from the Town Centre Team, working alongside colleagues from My Local Bobbies, arrested a male suspect wanted in connection with a retail theft investigation involving approximately £1,200 worth of goods stolen from a local business. The male was also linked to a number of offences and ongoing investigations across the Ealing borough, making his identification and arrest a priority for officers. Whilst carrying out proactive patrols and location checks within the town centre, officers located and approached the suspect. During the arrest, he actively resisted officers and attempted to evade detention, resulting in additional units being requested to assist. Following a prolonged struggle, officers successfully detained the male and brought the incident to a safe conclusion with the support of responding colleagues. The individual has since been: ✅ Charged with offences relating to the investigation ✅ Remanded into custody ✅ Subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order application He remains in custody and is due to appear before court shortly. This result demonstrates the value of proactive neighbourhood policing, partnership working and officers acting on local intelligence to identify and apprehend offenders. It also highlights our continued commitment to tackling retail crime and protecting local businesses across Ealing. Anyone with information about crime or anti-social behaviour in their area is encouraged to report it via 101 or online at www.met.police.uk.
