Good Evening, Dear Residents of Frognal,

Fraud Alert: Scammers Impersonating Police Officers

We would like to make residents aware of an ongoing fraud affecting elderly and vulnerable members of our community.

Fraudsters are contacting individuals and falsely claiming to be Police Officers. They may state that they are investigating a crime, that a bank account has been compromised, or that assistance is required with a police operation. They then attempt to obtain money, bank cards, PIN numbers, or other sensitive financial information.

Unfortunately, a number of senior citizens in Frognal have fallen victim to this scam, believing the callers to be genuine. In some cases, victims have handed over their Visa Debit Cards and Credit Cards to the fraudsters.

Please take a moment to speak with elderly relatives, friends, neighbours, and carers about this scam. Raising awareness is one of the most effective ways to prevent others from becoming victims.
