NEW IPHONE RELEASE CRIME ADVICE!!!!!!!!

RELEASE OF THE NEW IPHONE Duo - Friday 23rd October 2026

Staying Safe when Purchasing a New Mobile Phone

With the new Apple iPhone Duo launching on Friday, 23rd October, we are reminding residents to take a few simple precautions when purchasing or carrying high-value mobile phones.

New device launches can attract increased interest from thieves, particularly around retail locations and transport hubs. Police will be carrying out reassurance patrols and engaging with local retailers as part of a coordinated policing response.

If you are purchasing a new phone:

Keep your new device and packaging concealed where possible.

Stay aware of your surroundings when leaving shops and travelling home.

Make use of your phone’s tracking, security, and device recovery features.

Report suspicious activity to police.

We are working with retailers and local businesses to help prevent theft and robbery and keep our communities safe.

For emergency, call 999, non-emergency 101, or report online on the Metropolitan Police website.
