Police visit Crownfields Infant School! |

Good Morning,
Recently the Mawneys Safer Neighbourhoods Team attended Crownfield Infant School, on the invite of Headteacher Mrs Sharon Nacmias, to deliver an assembly to the students and offer them some insight into policing.
On Tuesday 13th October 2026, officers from the Mawneys SNT delivered a presentation to the students of Crownfield Infant School on what the roles and responsibilties of the Police are, the different types of uniforms worn by the Police, what vehicles Police use and the various bits of equipment. To demonstrate, we had officers dressed in various attires, such as standard Police uniforms for PC's and PCSO's, Level 2 Public Order Uniform and ceremonial tunic with beat duty helmet.
The purpose of the assembly was to allow the children to understand what we as the Police do and how to recognise us in the various different uniforms, so should they need help they know who to look for no matter the occasion.
The children then had the opportunity to then come outside and explore a Police vehicle and equipment. Students came out in their classes and got an insight to what the inside a Police vehicle looks like, and got to try out the blue lights & sirens! We also had various pieces of uniform for the children to try on as well. The students even managed to play Cops & Robbers with the officers!
It was a great day of fun enjoyed by the staff, students and officers!
