Week Round Up |

Good evening everyone,
We hope you are all doing well. Welcome to this week’s ‘Weekly Crime Update’. This is a summary of all the work your local Neighbourhood officers have been up to these past 6 days. Although this is not an extensive list of all that has been done, it is to shine light on some the good work that you may be interested in hearing about.
We started on Friday, where the teams PCSOs conducted an input at one of our primary schools. We engaged in a lively discussing around ASB with loads of active participation on the topic. Along with that, we hosted a parent workshop on the topic of ASB and safety. This was a very insightful conversation that we hope to continue with parents.
Throughout the week, officers have been patrolling several schools, providing reassurance. Officers have also been engaging with businesses regarding issues such as parking and shoplifting. We continue to engage with members of the public and have a visual presence in the community.
In addition, the PCSOs seized three vehicles for no tax.
We have arrested 2 wanted offenders for different offences.
Crimes of Note: In this section of the Weekly Crime update, we list some of the crimes of note that may be of particular interest to residents:
Criminal Damage to a residence on Floyer Road Criminal Damage to a residence on Bordesley Green Road Criminal Damage to a residence on Bankes Road Criminal Damage to a vehicle on Bordesley Close Criminal Damage on Muntz Street Theft of a motor vehicle on Coventry Road Theft from a shop on Bordesley Green East Theft from a shop on Bordesley Green
With Autumn and Winter months are drawing near, the sun sets earlier meaning longer hours of darkness. With this comes criminals who look to take advantage and target homes and vehicles.
At home, invest in cameras and security alarms to help notify you of any trespassers into your dwelling. Make sure to lock the doors at night. Checking windows are shut and locked when unoccupied to prevent people gaining access. Routine checks before leaving the house ensures no doors or windows are left unaccounted for.
To keep your car safe from criminal damage, it is recommended to avoid having valuables on show in your cars. Parking your car in a well-lit area could help mitigate your car being at risk. Parking your cars in view of your home address or any CCTV cameras helps provide better visibility while also deterring criminals. Parking your car on your personal driveaway helps reduce the risk even further.
Be aware of illegal tow trucks, especially if their vehicle isn’t branded or if they’re not in uniform, if so report it immediately.
With Bonfire night coming up and celebrations, fireworks will become more prominent. While fireworks are a fun way of celebrating, we need to remember to stay safe. Engaging in displays carried out by professionals in a safe manner is recommended rather than handling them at home reduces the risk of harm. Firework disposals should be done in a safe manner. This involves waiting for them to cool down and putting them in a metal container filled with water. If you see anti-social use of fireworks, flares, or smoke bombs in your local area, please call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
