Hello All,
This week on St Matthew's, officers have conducted several stop and searches within the town centre resulting in positive outcomes for drugs. We have also been enforcing the PSPO (public space protection order) that is in the town centre as we have stopped several people from consuming alcohol within the the town centre due to one of the rules on the PSPO being not to consume alcohol. We have also made some arrests this week, keeping the area we work and you live a better and safer place.
The PCSO's are remaining active within the area, conducting patrols in the Arboretum due to the upcoming events of Halloween and bonfire night. They have continued to engage with the local community and building up that rapport between the Police and the public.
The local Officers have also done a joint patrol within the town centre with the Councils community protection team. This allowed us to build further rapport with the community and use both Partnerships knowledge together to effectively patrol the town.
📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅
Upcoming is our tackle with ASB and any issues that may occur over the Halloween period. This meaning that we are hosting surgeries around the area promoting safety tips and spread awareness for Halloween. We are also going to be patrolling the Arboretum on the day of bonfire night to ensure the community are safe and can have a good time. Speedwatches will also be held to increase hi-vis presence but to also tackle speeding vehicles over the Halloween period. Finally we are also conducting a leaflet drop within the area, giving out the “anti-Halloween” or the “no trick-or-treaters” posters to any residents who may wish to have some.
More events are also being planned with local residencies to ensure that all of ok, and to obtain any issues they have, this is also to check in with the residents after Halloween as the Police are aware that not everyone may enjoy Halloween.
