COMMUNITY-FOCUSED PATROL IN STENSON FIELDS |

Mercia Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) joined forces with Councillor Matt Benfield from Derbyshire County Council to conduct a visible patrol around Stenson Fields this week.
During the targeted community safety patrol, the elected representative for the division and a local officer discussed a range of crime prevention improvements in the area, including recent action to cut back tree branches that were obstructing street lighting in an alleyway. Minor environmental improvements like these can make a big difference in helping residents to feel safe and confident when walking around the neighbourhood.
The highly-visible activity covered residential streets and public parkland, providing opportunities to engage with local people, identify any concerns and offer reassurance. During the patrol, the officer also took time to speak with a local business owner. Additionally, the visit included opportunities discuss other community issues of concern including fly-tipping in rural areas. Pleasingly, throughout the patrol, there was no litter, graffiti or other detritus on display.
Stenson Fields continues to be a community that residents can be proud of, and we remain committed to patrolling the area to help keep it a great place to live, work and visit.
