🚨 Stay Safe and Keep Your Valuables Secure This Festive Season 🚨As we head into the busy festive period, we'd like to remind everyone to take a little extra care of their personal belongings while out and about in the city centre. Unfortunately, theft remains a common issue, particularly in busy, crowded areas where people may be distracted while shopping, socialising or travelling. We've recently seen incidents where individuals have approached members of the public asking to borrow a mobile phone to make a call. In some cases, once the phone has been handed over, the individual has run off with it. Most people naturally want to help others, and offenders often exploit that kindness. If someone needs assistance, consider offering to make the call on their behalf rather than handing over your device. Taking small precautions like this can help reduce opportunities for theft while still allowing you to assist someone in need.
What's happening in Piccadilly Gardens? The hoarding around Piccadilly Gardens continues to be extended as work progresses, and residents and visitors should begin to see more of the Piccadilly Gardens Team patrolling not just the Gardens but also the surrounding areas alongside the current designated Neighbourhood Police Officers. The increased presence is part of our ongoing efforts to support the community, deter crime and provide reassurance to those using the City Centre.
Come and Speak With Us TodayYou may also notice the Live Facial Recognition (LFR) van in Piccadilly Gardens today. If you're in the area, please come over and have a chat with us. Whether you have questions about LFR, concerns about crime in the city centre, or would simply like some crime prevention advice, we'd be pleased to speak with you. 👋 See our team, stop by and say hello. We're here to help
