West Yorkshire Police Neighbourhood Watch

Hello

West Yorkshire Police are one of the few forces in the UK that employ staff to support Neighbourhood Watch schemes.

We work closely with National Neighbourhood Watch (Our Watch) who generally lead on NHW initiatives, but we can offer a localised approach to the information we share with our groups. Please see the table below:

National NHW Network

(our Watch)

West Yorkshire Police NHW (Divisional)

· The National platform for NHW. They are a Home Office supported, registered charity and are the lead in most NHW initiatives.

· They hold a separate database of members, and schemes can register with both national and local organisers.

· Have access to training and development resources for schemes

· Only accessible by people in West Yorkshire.

· Crime and prevention information is tailored to the scheme’s location.

· Has dedicated force employed NHW co-ordinators for each district.

· Members can still join and use the National Network resources.

If you wish to be added as a member of WYP Neighbourhood watch and to the mailing list, please email wyp.nhw@Westyorkshire.police.uk with your full name and address.

In addition, if you join West Yorkshire Police NHW, we provide street signs (4 per scheme) and window stickers free of charge.

Kind Regards

WYP Neighbourhood Watch team
