Firecrackers/Fireworks

Firecrackers/Fireworks

Morning,

We have received reports of children entering the wooded area accessed from Leopold Corner, FAIRFIELD and letting off what are believed to be firecrackers/fireworks.

We are asking parents and carers to please speak with their children about the dangers associated with fireworks and similar explosive items. They can cause serious injury, burns and hearing damage, and using them in a wooded area also creates an obvious fire risk to surrounding vegetation and wildlife.

Please remind children that fireworks are not toys and should never be carried or used by young people unsupervised.

We would also encourage parents to be aware of where their children are spending their time and what they may be carrying.

Thank you for helping us keep our young people and community safe.
