🚗⚠️ DON’T MAKE IT EASY FOR THIEVES! ⚠️🚗

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle crime (theft from or theft of), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Vehicle thieves are often looking for easy opportunities. Taking a few simple steps can make your vehicle a far less attractive target.

🔐 Lock it. Check it. Protect it. Even if you're only away from your vehicle for a moment, always make sure doors, windows and sunroofs are fully secured.

🎒 Hide It or Take It Leaving valuables on display can attract unwanted attention. Bags, phones, wallets, tools and electronics should be removed or locked out of sight.

🔑 Protect Your Keys Keep keys away from doors and windows, and consider using a signal-blocking pouch if your vehicle has keyless entry.

💡 Park Smart Choose well-lit, busy locations where possible. At home, park on a driveway or in a garage if available.

🛡️ Add Extra Security Steering wheel locks, trackers, alarms and immobilisers can provide an extra layer of protection and deter offenders.

👀 Spot Something Suspicious? People trying door handles, looking into vehicles, or hanging around parked cars may be signs of suspicious activity. Trust your instincts and report it.

📞 How to Report to Police 🚨 999 – If a crime is happening right now or there's an immediate danger. ☎️ 101 – To report vehicle crime, attempted theft, suspicious activity, or information about offenders. 💻 You can also report online via your local police force website.

🤝 By staying vigilant and taking a few simple precautions, we can all help reduce vehicle crime in our communities.
