I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle Crime - theft from / theft of, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Dear Residents,
We would like to make residents aware of a recent incident in the Raglan area that highlights the importance of remaining vigilant and taking steps to protect vehicles and property.
Two males have been arrested in the Raglan area. Prior to their arrest for multiple offences, two males were reported to have been taking photographs of vehicles, particulary pickup trucks and agricultural equipment within Raglan Village. Whilst enquiries continue, this information is being shared to encourage residents and business owners to review their security measures and remain alert to any suspicious activity.
We would ask residents to consider the following crime prevention advice:
Ensure all vehicles are locked and secured when unattended. Remove keys from vehicles and never leave spare keys inside. Consider using steering wheel locks, pedal locks, or vehicle tracking systems. Park vehicles in well-lit areas, garages, or secure locations where possible. Store agricultural machinery and equipment securely and remove keys when not in use. Fit and maintain CCTV systems, security lighting, and alarms where appropriate. Mark valuable equipment with forensic marking products or unique identifiers. Report any suspicious behaviour, persons, or vehicles in your area immediately.
Business owners and those responsible for agricultural premises are encouraged to review their site security and ensure that equipment, tools, and vehicles are adequately protected.
By remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activity, we can work together to help prevent crime and keep our communities safe.
If you witness suspicious behaviour or have information that may assist police, please report it via 101 or online. In an emergency, always dial 999.
Kind regards,
PCSO 479 Megan Greaves Neighbourhood Policing Team
