Police Action in Response to Local Concerns About Drug Dealing |
||
|
Earlier this month, PC Roy received information regarding suspected drug dealing in the rear car park of a large residential apartment building and in the surrounding area.
The report stated that a male was attending the location on a daily basis and was using and dealing drugs.
Concerns were also raised about anti-social behaviour, which included urinating, consuming alcohol, and leaving litter and drug paraphernalia all over the floor.
In response, PC Roy and his colleagues carried out both uniformed and plain-clothed patrols and operations targeting the area.
As a result of this activity, 5 individuals were stop searched for drugs. Three individuals were found with possession of drug paraphernalia, including one who was also found with possession of cannabis.
The three individuals were juveniles, and the matter has been referred to the Youth Justice Team for appropriate intervention and disposal.
The information provided by residents was invaluable in helping us build community intelligence and achieve these results.
So far there have been no further reports of drug dealing or anti-social behaviour in this specific location since the operation.
Tackling drug dealing and associated anti-social behaviour remains a key ward priority, and the Herne Bay Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to take proactive action to address these issues.
Thank you to those who continue to show their support and continue to report any concerns or suspicious activity. | ||
