Suspicious Doorstep Caller - Moatbrook Lane

A resident of Moatbrook Lane reported that at approximately 8:15pm last night, a male called at her address claiming to be from the British Red Cross.

Although the male was displaying an ID badge, the resident felt suspicious about the visit and questioned why a representative would be conducting door-to-door calls after dark.

The resident contacted the British Red Cross this morning to verify the caller's legitimacy. She was advised that they were not aware of any door-to-door fundraising or calling activity taking place in the area, and staff agreed that the circumstances sounded suspicious.

The incident has been reported for information and to raise awareness among local residents. Anyone who experiences a similar visit or has concerns about doorstep callers should report the matter via 101, or 999 if they feel threatened or believe a crime is in progress.
