A man has been arrested following two reports of indecent behaviour in Norwich. We received a report shortly before 6pm on Tuesday 13 October that a man was carrying out an indecent act on Barn Road, Norwich. Officers attended, but the man could not be located. While enquiries into the incident were ongoing, we received a further call from the victim yesterday afternoon (14 October) reporting that the man had returned to the area and was again carrying out an indecent act.
Officers responded quickly and subsequently arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of outraging public decency. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains.
Unwanted sexual behaviour can have a lasting impact on those who experience it. Even offences involving no physical contact can leave victims feeling intimidated, unsafe, anxious or fearful and can include: - Catcalling and harassment - Indecent exposure (flashing) - Voyeurism - Upskirting - Spiking - Stalking
We're pleased the victim felt able to contact us again and would encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses this type of behaviour to report it to police. Every report helps us to identify offending and prevent further incidents.
