Nottingham Knockers |

I'd never heard of that name either.
Nottingham knockers traditionally take the form of young men who descend on an area together in a car or van. They arrive with a bag full of cleaning products each and a plan to go door-to-door in search of cash sales. They also offer building repair services. While selling on the doorstep is not illegal, they are known for their aggressive tactics, poor quality products, and premium price tags. Often, the waters are muddied by a claim they are ex-offenders trying to make an honest living with a mocked-up ID card.
I've posted recently about this, but they seem to be more prolific now. Please tell any neighbours who are not on Met Engage of these incidents. Recent suspects are driving a white van with Irish number plates. White Male with a bright orange High Viz workman's jacket. Ginger hair and beard. Normally carrying a mobile phone. White Male with scruffy, paint covered jeans and blue t-shirt. Black short hair. Carrying a mobile phone.
Thank you to vigilant residents for drawing this to our attention again. Keep any reports coming through as we can then build a pattern of behaviour and areas that they visit.
Also, please encourage your neighbours to sign up to Met Engage. It is a great way for us to keep in touch with you. We only contact you about issues on our wards.
Thank you.
