Awareness for darker nights

🌙🔒 Darker Nights Are Here - Help Keep Burglars Out! 🔒🌙

As the evenings get darker, it's important to take a few simple steps to help protect your home and belongings from opportunist burglars.

🏠 Burglary Prevention Tips: ✅ Lock all doors and windows, even when you're at home. ✅ Make sure sheds, garages and outbuildings are secure. ✅ Leave a light on when you're out, or use timer switches to make your home look occupied. ✅ Keep keys, wallets and valuable items out of sight. ✅ Consider installing CCTV, video doorbells or security lighting. ✅ Don't advertise you're away on holiday by posting live updates on social media. ✅ Mark valuable property and keep a record of serial numbers.

💡 A well-lit and secure home is far less attractive to criminals.

👀 If you see anyone acting suspiciously in your neighbourhood, please report it. Your information could help prevent crime and keep our communities safe.

📞 In an emergency, always call 999. 📱 For non-emergencies, report online or call 101.

🤝 Let's work together to keep our community safe this autumn and winter.
