Officers tackle road safety in Broadland |
||
Road safety remains a priority across Broadland, and our neighbourhood officers have been out and about tackling concerns around this. Here's a snapshot of some of what they have been up to: Officers carried out speed checks on Middle Road, Great Plumstead and spoke with three drivers who were speeding. Further checks on Norwich Road, Salhouse, resulted in a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) being issued for excess speed in a 40mph zone. Following reports of anti-social motorcycle use on Pound Lane, Thorpe St Andrew, officers spoke with several young riders in the area and all were given road safety advice. Officers also provided guidance on bike maintenance and safe riding. Over in Sprowston, officers conducted patrols around White Woman Lane Junior School, focusing on safe parking. Drivers parked in the bus stop outside the school were given words of advice, and a TOR was issued for vehicle obstruction. While parking is primarily a civil matter, we know that it can be something that concerns residents a lot, and we will try to offer education and enforcement when appropriate. Speed checks on Spixworth Road, Old Catton, found no speeding offences or other road safety concerns. Officers have also been carrying out patrols targeting disqualified drivers. During one patrol in Old Catton, a man wanted on a fail-to-appear warrant was arrested. You can report vehicle ASB to us here. More information on parking outside schools here. | ||
