Derbyshire Constabulary Community Speed Watch volunteers from across the Mercia policing beat area in South Derbyshire came together today, (Wednesday 14 October), to discuss the positive impact they are making in local communities.
The session provided an opportunity for volunteers to share experiences, highlight successes and reflect on the work carried out in villages across the area - including Smisby, Ticknall, Milton, Bretby, Newton Solney, Repton, Willington and Findern.
Their dedication has helped increase awareness of road safety issues, encouraged safer driving habits and strengthened engagement with local residents.
Community Speed Watch also plays an important role in supporting efforts to tackle speeding concerns, with volunteers giving their time to help make roads safer for everyone.
Today's meeting was attended by Derbyshire County Council representative Councillor Matt Benfield and your local safer neighbourhood team officer who both joined in discussions about future speed watch activity in the area, as well as exchanging ideas and recognising the commitment shown by those involved.
A huge thank you goes to all of the volunteers who continue to support the scheme. Their efforts make a real difference and help create safer roads and stronger communities throughout South Derbyshire.
